Epic of Gilgamesh vs. Genesis

Both the Epic of Gilgamesh and the book Genesis, talk about a flood that exterminates mankind. The flood happened because the humans were becoming rebelent and were not obeying their god.  The flood kills all mankind except, for one guy and hid family.
In both stories there is a man that is told to build an ark by his god. On his ark he is to carry two of every animal and he can also bring his family. Everyday the man lets a bird out of the window to see if it will bring back some sort of vegitation. Finally, after awhile the brid brings back a branch of a tree. That was a sign that the flood waters were residing.
In both of the stories the gods saw that what they had done was bad, and they promised to never do anything like that again.
